Understanding target achievement
Target achievement shows how far a person or team has progressed toward a target in a given period. It is usually shown as a percentage, where 100% means the target has been met. The number is only useful if you know what it measures, which period it covers and how fresh the data behind it is. This guide shows how to read a target achievement figure in Perslace and how to check it before you act on it.

Three kinds of target
Perslace shows targets on cards, and each card has one of three types:
- Employee: a target for one person.
- Manager (Individual): a manager's own personal target.
- Manager (Team Rollup): a target based on the combined results of a manager's team.
A manager's individual target and a team-rollup target measure different things, so check the type first. Many "the manager total looks wrong" questions are really about the type.
What a target card shows
Each card shows the current value, the target value, the achievement percentage, a status, the end date and how often the target repeats (for example, monthly).
Example (illustrative only): a rep has a monthly target of $40,000 in closed revenue and has closed $30,000 so far. The card shows a current value of $30,000 against a target of $40,000, which is 75% achievement.
How to check a target achievement figure
Use these steps to read an existing target without changing it:
- Open Employees and select Performance Targets.
- Find the target and confirm its type: Employee, Manager (Individual) or Manager (Team Rollup).
- Confirm who the target covers and which metric definition it uses. The metric definition decides what is counted, for example net revenue or number of deals.
- Review the current value, target value, percentage, status, end date and recurrence.
- Check that the end date and recurrence match the period you want to review.
- Confirm that the connected data source has refreshed and that the metric returns the expected value for the same period.
- Compare the percentage with the current and target values.
If something doesn't match, fix the cause first: the data, the metric or the period.
Recalculate with care
Perslace has a Recalculate Achievement action. Use it only after you have confirmed the source data, the metric and the period. Don't recalculate repeatedly to work around missing or out-of-date data; it won't fix the underlying problem. Resolve the first data or metric issue you find, then recalculate once.
Common problems and quick checks
- The value isn't current: check the last successful data refresh, the target period, the source records and the metric definition before recalculating.
- The percentage looks wrong: compare the current and target values, then confirm the period and metric. If it still looks wrong, note the exact values and contact support.
- A manager total is unexpected: check whether the target is Manager (Individual) or Manager (Team Rollup), then review the reporting line and the team members included.
- A target card is missing: check access rights, the target owner, the target type, the end date and any page filters. Don't create a replacement until you understand what happened to the original.
Why visible targets matter
Reps who can see their progress during the period can act on it, instead of finding out after the period has closed. Perslace gives reps and managers live dashboards for targets and accelerator thresholds. See Perslace for Sales.
